TRP Ratings of Week 29 (13th July 2014 to 19th July 2014)

TVT and GVT Ratings of Indian Television Shows
(TAM Ratings for week 29, 2014) 

In the week 29 of TAM TV ratings, there is finally a new entrant. Zeel’s new general entertainment channel (GEC), Zindagi has fetched a gross viewership of 29 million GVTs, up from 27 million GVTs in the earlier week.

Star Plus again crossed the 700 million mark and registered 712 million GVTs, up from 673 million GVTs. Zee TV stood second with 436 million GVTs, up from 425 million GVTs.

Life OK returned to No. 3 position after two weeks. It noted 361 million GVTs, up from 325 million GVTs and Colors dropped to number four with 347 million GVTs, up from 342 million GVTs.

Only Sony Entertainment Television (SET) saw a drop in the viewership and noted 270 million GVTs, down from 279 million GVTs. Sab moved closer to Sony and marked 268 million GVTs, up from 248 million GVTs.

Chart topper Diya Aur Baati Hum is reaching new heights week after week. It noticed 10,488 TVTs, up from 9,510 TVTs and so has Mahabharat which scored 9,413 TVTs, up from 7,066 TVTs. On the other hand, the channel’s third popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai witnessed a drop and stood at 8,303 TVTs, down from 8,412 TVTs.

Jodha Akbar noticed 9,331 TVTs, up from 7,598 TVTs, Kumkum Bhagya recorded 6,586 TVTs, up from 6,261 TVTs. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah recorded 7,187 TVTs, up from 6,460 TVTs. Comedy Nights with Kapil garnered 6,812 TVTs, down from 7,615 TVTs and Jhalak Dikhlaja witnessed 5,637 TVTs, up from 4,246 TVTs.

Zindagi Gulzar Hai reported 346 TVTs, down from 415 TVTs, Noorpur Ki Raani scored 197 TVTs, down from 282 TVTs.

CID scored 3,688 TVTs, down from 4,394 TVTs. Maharana Veer Pratap saw a rise in the ratings and observed 3,498 TVTs, up from 3,056 TVTs. The new entrant Yudh garnered 1,199 TVTs, up from 977 TVTs.

Kids Entertainment Channels

Nick has garnered 201 TVTs down from 210 TVTs in week 29 TAM TV ratings. This week channel is riding on the popularity of its character Ninja Hattori among other tent poles as well. Turner’s mainstay Cartoon Network shed 32 TVTs this week to come in second with 193 TVTs down from 225 TVTs.

Following closely is Disney Channel with 190 TVTs down from 214 TVTs at number three. Pogo is at number four with 179 TVTs down from 184 TVTs last week and Hungama at five with 172 TVTs up from 169 TVTs.

The most watched show in the genre was the feature film ‘Mighty Raju: Rio Calling’, which had also released across theatres in India on 16 May this year.

In terms of the reach of the channels, Cartoon Network’s 39 per cent beat Nick’s 37 per cent, closely followed by Pogo with 35 per cent.
