TVT and GVT Ratings of Indian Television Shows
(TAM Ratings for week 40, 2014) 

Colors was the only channel among the Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) to see a marginal gain in its viewership. All other channels witnessed a decline as per TAM latest data for Week 40 of 2014.

Despite seeing a drop in its viewership, Star Plus continues to lead the pack with 549 millions GVTs, down from 593 millions GVTs. Colors that surprised many by dislodging ZEE TV last week remains steady at second place. The channel scored 433 millions GVTs, up from 431 millions GVTs.

Zee TV witnessed a drop of 26 GVTs in its points in the week ended 4 October, It ranked number three with 401 millions GVTs, down from 427 millions GVTs. Life OK remains at number four with 299 millions GVTs, down from 307 millions GVTs.

At number five, Sab recorded 254 millions GVTs, down from 262 millions GVTs. Sony Entertainment Television (SET) at number six garnered 234 millions GVTs, down from 264 millions GVTs.

Sony Pal also saw a drop in its ratings, It recorded 23 million GVTs, down from 26 million GVTs. While Zindagi reported 20 millions GVTs, down from 26 millions GVTs.

Sahara One was at the bottom with 11 millions GVTs, from 11 millions GVTs in the previous week.

Top 10 Telly TRP chart topper Diya Aur Baati Hum recorded 7,780 TVTs, down from 8,171 TVTs, Saath Nibhana Saathiya scored 7,136 TVTs, up from 6,730 TVTs and Ye Hai Mohabbatein tracked 6,454 TVTs, down from 6,687 TVTs.

Jodha Akbar lost some eyeballs and recorded 7,217 TVTs, down from 7,817 TVTs, Kumkum Bhagya garnered 6,546 TVTs, down from 7,259 TVTs and Jamai Raja scored 5,977 TVTs, down from 6,380 TVTs.

Sasural Simar Ka witnessed a marginal rise and scored 5,874 TVTs, up from 5,783 TVTs. Taarak Mehta continues to be the Sab TV's leader with 5,108 TVTs, down from 5,727 TVTs.

Its stint with dance seems to lose some eyeballs as Dare 2 Dance witnessed a significant fall in the ratings and registered 1,504 TVTs, down from 2,314 TVTs. KBC ranks second with 2,545 TVTs, down from 2,847 TVTs.

Star Gold reiterates its promise of being the Home of Blockbuster Premieres with the World TV Premiere of KICK clocking a whopping 4,493 TVTs in Week 40 of 2014 (28 September – 4 October, 2014). With the record-breaking success of KICK on Indian television, Star Gold holds the record of airing the highest rated TV premiere of 2014.

Star Gold leads the hindi movie genre dislodging Sony Max in Week 40 TAM TV ratings. The channel witnessed a growth of 35,602 GVTs, It scored 118,550 GVTs, up from 82,948 GVTs. Sony Max slipped to second spot with 83,361 GVTs, down from 85,555 GVTs.

At number three, Zee Cinema recorded 79,205 GVTs, up from 77,309 GVTs. Movies OK with minor drop remained at fourth spot with 61,213 GVTs, down from 61,312 GVTs.

Kids Entertainment Channels

Nick stands tall in week 40 TAM TV Ratings. The channel scored 247 TVTS up from 225 TVTs. Hungama rises to second place with 225 TVTs up from 192 TVTs.

Disney Channel India at third position recorded 211 TVTs down from 213 TVTs. At number four, Cartoon Network maintained its stability with 207 TVTs up from 195 TVTs. Pogo taking the fifth position with 163 TVTs up from 151 TVTs.

In terms of the reach of the channels, Nick was at 40 per cent followed by Cartoon Network at 39 per cent.
