Aashka Goradia: I does not mind playing mother to Ssharad Malhotraa

Aashka who is playing a stepmother to the grown up Maharana Pratap in the show 'Bharat Ka Veer Putra... Maharana Pratap 'feels that she has actually shed weight and feels even better and ready with the leap in the show. She says, "I would never have agreed to the leap had it been any other show. But since it is a historical show and I received a lot of appreciation for my character, I felt that playing mother would be okay. Ssharad might be my age or younger I am not aware of that. But if Tabu can Shahid Kapoor's mother in Haider, I am sure I can play mom to Ssharad in the show."

Playing a negative side of Akbar is tough says Krip Suri on Maharana Pratap

Actor Krip Suri, who is playing Akbar in the "Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap" historical show, will be showcasing the negative side of the Mughal emperor and says it's tough.

"The role of Akbar has been played by two phenomenal actors namely Prithviraj Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan in movies. Hence, I feel privileged to essay this role. But unlike them who essayed his positive behaviour, I'm portraying the negative side of Akbar in the show 'Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap'," Krip said in a statement.

The popular historical show Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap on Sony Entertainment Television, has been winning a lot of hearts through its crisp and unique concept. Drawing in the viewers' attention with its captivating storyline, the show has won the best historical show award at the 14th Indian Television Academy (ITA) Awards.

The show has not only won the Best Historical Show award but also bagged the Best Child Actor Award - Faisal Khan, Best Supporting Actor (Male) award - Shakti Anand and Best Supporting Actor (Female) award - Rajshri Thakur.

Sareeka to enter Maharana Pratap and Buddha

Actress Sareeka Dhillon has her hands full with work. She will soon feature in three shows at a time.

Currently seen in Ekta Kapoor's Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, the actress has been signed on to play pivotal roles in historical shows Bharat Ka Veer Putra: Maharana Pratap and Buddha. Expectantly, Sareeka is excited about becoming part of the two shows.

While she will play Rani Veerbai Jhaala, who gets married to Maharana Uday Singh in Maharana Pratap, she will play Maanvika in Buddha. Says she, "Both the roles are very interesting and pivotal. The two kings will fight for me in Maharana Pratap as even Maaldev Rao wants to marry me, but I tie the knot with Maharana Uday eventually.

Story
Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap is a historical drama based on the Indian patriotic hero from Rajasthan, Maharana Pratap. Maharana Pratap was a brave and powerful King of the 16th century, who ruled the kingdom Mewar. Time and again he raised his sword to battle the Afgans, Mughals, Turk invaders from entering his kingdom. After his father’s demise he was the only child amongst his siblings to continue his fight against the Mughal invaders, while the rest joined hands with Mughal King Akbar. Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap not only depicts the achievements of this brave warrior but also traces the journey of young Pratap who grew up to be a king by escaping his death, plotted by many of adversaries innumerable times. His earned the title of Maharana by displaying his bravery on battle field and humbleness with his citizens off the field.
