Sahil Salathia, a software engineer from Jammu, considers himself lucky to be chosen for a lead role in Ashutosh Gowariker's forthcoming TV show Everest. He is totally dedicated towards the show.

"I feel extremely honoured that Ashu (Ashutosh) sir chose me for the 'mahurat' shot of the show. It was after a series of look tests that I was finalised to play the lead Arjun Sabharwal. After that, I breathe, sleep, eat and live 'Everest' during every moment of my life," Sahil said in a statement.

The show, which has three actors in the lead, is due to go on air on Star Plus November 3, 2014.

Sahil's role is of a 28-year-old mountaineer, whose greatest ambition in life is to climb Mount Everest.

Born in Jammu and partly raised in Delhi, Sahil completed his engineering from Punjab University and thereafter, he ventured into modelling.

"I was approached by a photographer in Chandigarh for modelling. After much consideration, I agreed and now I have successfully done over 50 print campaigns and around 15 TV commercials. Everest is my first big break and I hope that people like my character of Arjun Sabharwal," he added.
