Diya Aur Baati Hum: Akhilendra Mishra to appear in negative role

Bollywood actor Akhilendra Mishra, who played the cunning and conniving Kroor Singh in popular series "Chandrakanta", will be seen playing a negative role in TRP topper show 'Diya Aur Baati Hum'.

His role on the show is described as a chief of an extremist group. The character will be a 'master of disguise' and a man of few words focused on his mission.

Akhilendra said in a statement, "I have heard a lot of good things about the show. It brings across a very strong message which has been projected in a very constructive manner to the viewers. I am really looking forward to the role."

He added, "For the first time, I am playing a negative character in a show that has a police background."

Akhilendra Mishra has worked with many big banner Bollywood films, he is well known for his work in Lagaan, Gangaajal, Sarfarosh, Shootout At Lokhandwala and The Legend of Bhagat Singh.

'Diya Aur Baati Hum' traces the journey of a middle class girl who realises her dreams of becoming an Indian Police Service officer despite many hurdles.
